  • Puppy school is about teaching foundations and preventing behaviour problems from developing. If your puppy already has a specific behaviour problem for example, reactivity on the lead, separation issues, compulsive behaviour, guarding, or excessive barking, this cannot be addressed in class and you will need to book a separate consultation.

  • Our puppy classes are suitable for puppies aged between 9 and 20 weeks.

  • Puppies must have received their first round of vaccinations at least one week prior to the start of the course. Second vaccinations are not a requirement for joining the class as it is a clean environment.

  • First and foremost, don't forget to bring your puppy! Please ensure they are wearing an ordinary collar or harness, accompanied by a regular flat lead (we kindly request no retractable/ ‘flexi’ leads). It's also essential to have good quality dog treats on hand as we use positive reinforcement only with food as the reinforcer. Lastly, don't forget to bring a cosy blanket or bed for your puppy to settle on comfortably.

  • Our puppy classes take place indoors at our beautiful, spacious, Grade 2 listed hall venue at Ranelagh Grove, Belgravia SW1. Each session typically lasts for one hour, providing ample time for training, socialisation, and addressing any questions or concerns you may have.

  • Yes you are welcome to bring your partner and children

  • It depends! Typically 8 and sometimes 9 if they are primarily small breeds. People often need to miss a class from time to time, so numbers fluctuate throughout the course.

  • This is quite common! Each week after class you will receive an email recap of what was covered, so you can practice at home between classes and catch up for the next one. You are welcome to ask a friend or family member to bring your puppy to school if you are going away or are unwell that week. Please note that the course is sold as a complete package and no refunds for missed classes can be made for any reason including if your puppy is unwell. Missed classes cannot be transferred to later courses.

  • If your puppy has already developed strong, on-lead reactivity (barking/ lunging/ excessive excitement/ arousal/ growling) towards other dogs, please do not sign up for this school. If your puppy arrives and is struggling with reactivity to the point where they are unable to concentrate and learn, Nicky may very kindly request you to leave the course and opt for private training instead. The fee you paid for school can be used for two private 1-hour training sessions. If however, Nicky does not have the physical capacity for this, you may be refunded. To avoid disappointment, please get in touch with Nicky prior to booking for a chat to see if puppy school is right for your puppy. Yours and the other puppies’ welfare and safety at school is paramount. Thank you for understanding.

  • If your puppy has already developed behaviour problems, for example, reactivity on the lead, separation issues, compulsive behaviours, guarding, or excessive barking, you will need to book a separate consultation for this. Nicky cannot consult with you in a class environment, she can only answer broad, typical puppy questions.
